Hi! I'm Mia. 31 She/Her. NSFW on occasion. I just reblog shit.
A quick sketch of my Tav to make sure I still can draw and now I can go back to playing Baldur’s Gate

also I guess this is a little region-specific but oh my god Eastern Bloc settings, stalinist and brutalist architecture and large panel-system building rapidly constructed in places that used to be fields and forests so you sometimes get deer and pheasants walking among apartment blocks, combinations of absurdly vast spaces and absurdly large buildings that just loom above you, the everpresent statues and mosaics celebrating the regime, the bars in store windows, the nostalgic feeling of your grandma’s apartment mingling with the odd feeling of being watched
Maybe it’s bc I’m Norwegian, but I’m always a slut for a good ghost ship / ship related horror.
everythingeverywhereallatonce:
This documentary is up there with the Making of The Long Night featurette from Game of Thrones in the “why the fuck would you release this labour violation lawsuit evidence file as a documentary?” list.
The mismanagement and disrespect of the crews is so evident in both and yet the people in charge released them as a way to show themselves as amazing and triumphant in the face of adversity, seemingly oblivious to the fact that they are in fact the very adversity that needs to be triumphed against by their overworked, underpaid employees.
Also I shouldn’t have to say there’s research about this, but there’s research about this (mostly in the healthcare field but I’d be shocked if it wasn’t generalizable). A very strong indicator of burnout is how futile someone feels their work is. Humans do not react well at all to doing work which doesn’t feel like it has a purpose.
There’s a reason this poor animator is so desperately trying to convince herself it will work out. Because I’ll bet the moment she couldn’t anymore, burnout would be on the horizon. Making people do futile work, or mismanaging them to the point where they perceive the work as futile, should be a labor rights problem all on its own.
Tip: You can replace therapy with fifteen hour of unrealistic romantic fantasies daily. But watch out.

do goyische english speakers even know how many words they use regularly are yiddish Do they even know
there’s the obvious like mensch and mazel tov and bris and kosher but also chutzpah and klutz and dreck and kvetch and tchotchke and putz and schlock and SCHLONG! DO YOU GUYS KNOW THAT ONE OF THE FAMOUS TERMS FOR DICK IS YIDDISH! what about shmuck or schtick or GLITCH! GLITCH IS YIDDISH! DO YOU GUYS EVEN KNOW THAT BAGEL IS YIDDISH
well, no, they’re loanwords. english does it all the time with all kinds of languages. café (french), bazaar (persian), and kindergarten (german) are all loanwords. it’s not stealing, because languages aren’t really capable of the malice that implies. there’s also nothing wrong with using words from or learning new languages. what really gets my goat though is when gentiles mock the way yiddish sounds while using its words without even realizing it

as a kid i had one of those “there’s a monster under my bed” moments except real.
every night i would cry about a ghost or something trying to scare me by knocking on my bedroom windows and walls. like, really loudly, every hour or so, every night. only at night. so my dad was like “heh okay kiddo let’s check it out :) ah see? there’s nothing here :)” and left.
until years later he admitted to me that he did in fact hear the unexplainable knocking when he slept in that room one night, and it kept him awake with fear. and suddenly felt awful for not believing little kid me.
imagine your kid being like “daddy there’s a demon in my closet” and you being like ok son lemme just check that for you :). and you open the door and there’s a demon in the closet

This literally took me months (I procrastinated)
the only bad part about going to the zoo is hearing adult men confidently tell their kids or gfs objectively incorrect information about the animals we’re looking at and having to remain silent. do u know the restraint it takes to say nothing when a grown adult man tells someone “falcons are in the same family as eagles” next to me? no babygirl. no.
fyi falcons are not closely related to other birds of prey (hawks/eagles/buzzards). falcons are actually parrots that minmaxed for a glass cannon dps build.
assault parrots, if you will
